Playing catch up

Today will be a marathon.
Due to sickness, our cleanse, and a busy few days my homestead has seriously been neglected. There aren't many things to pick up (thankfully), it's the deep cleaning that needs to get done. My least favorite part. I mean, who gets excited to clean bathrooms? Especially when they're mine. Both need to be gutted and have atrocious features like a pink toilet and carpet or worse, a white shower with impossible (disgusting from previous owners) grout. Shutter.

In addition to the deep cleaning I need to take care of a couple financial matters, get some emails out, update my ever growing calendar, finish laundry, get dinner together (pumpkin butternut squash bisque), workout, read Ch.1 in this book before my study tomorrow night, and get Avery's costume started. I'm not sure I'll accomplish everything, but I'll give it my best shot.

After today, I work the next three business days and our evenings are booked thru Tuesday. So what I don't get done today, will have to wait until Tuesday.

Thankfully, the last few days have been full of fun for Bray. Monday, he got to spend a couple hours at Daddy's work while Avery and I went to the final hearing for a friend's adoption. You should check out their story via her blog (be sure and read all 4 parts), it's incredible. He also spent Monday night with his favorite people (the cousins) while Bob and I did premarital counseling. Tuesday, we went to my friend Kaytee's house. Kaytee and I have been friends since first grade and she's remained one of my favorite people. She has a little boy around the same age as Bray and they love to play together.

Here are a few photos from our week thus far.

Oh Braydon. The things you do to her.

My hair is so brittle and dry. Anyone have any tips? I can hardly style it.

I actually love his hair, but he rarely lets me style it. sadly, it will get cut soon.

We made flour-less peanut butter choc. chip cookies.

Bray hoards items in our fridge. "I''m saving them for later, mama"
Ignore the grossness that is my fridge. I'll get there eventually.

Puffy eyes and a yucky nose, yet still happy as a clam.
Such a joy.

Here's a parting peice of encouragement from my morning reading:

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory or our great God and Savior Jesus Christ who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works." - Titus 2:11-14

Have a fun and productive day wherever you are!

  2. Just noticed your request for a hair tip. I always admire your hair and don't think you need any tips at all :) But I did read on tpw about the morroccan oil mask, which I'm hearing many other good reviews on. http://thepioneerwoman.com/homeandgarden/2012/10/moroccanoil/
